King’s Day

King’s Day is a national holiday in the Netherlands, Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten in honor of the head of state. When a king is in power this is called King’s Day and when a queen is in power it is called Queen’s Day. King’s Day is celebrated on April 27 of the year. If this day falls on a Sunday, King’s Day will be brought forward one day to Saturday (for example in 2014 and 2025 this is the case).
